AC not cooling
Check the simple things first: the thermostat, the outdoor unit's breaker and the filter. If there's ice on the lines or the unit, switch it off and let it thaw; running it frozen can damage it.

Check these first
- Thermostat. Set it to Cool and a few degrees below the room.
- Breakers. The outdoor unit has its own breaker and a shutoff box on the wall beside it. Check both.
- Filter. A clogged filter can freeze the coil and cut the cooling.
- Ice. Ice on the copper lines or the indoor unit? Switch it off, or to Fan only, and let it thaw.
